  • Wait untill you have received your (free) key via e-mail
  • Navigate to the directory where you have saved the downloaded file.
  • Unzip the file you have downloaded. Paste the key in the password window. See left figure. You are free to choose a location you like.
  • Run the program ex_zooms.exe once. A filedialog will pop up, where to save the file. See right figure. 
  • zoomsave.exe is now ready for use.

 

The program will create two directories (bin and toolbox) with the necessary dialogs, libraries and other resources. Additionally a cmd file named zoomsave.cmd is created. For your convenience you can create a short cut to this program on your desktop. If you do not know how to create a desktop shortcut, ask your administrator.

Run the command file zoomsave.cmd. It will prompt you with the following dialog, to get the name of the GEF file to be treated:

Next the program needs to know which quantity you want to use on the horizontal axis. After you have chosen the quantity to display along the horizontal axis, the window for the choice of the quantity to display along the vertical axis pops up.

When the file has been successfully read, a window pops up, with the graph of the quantities chosen before.

To start the selection of the section of data, follow the list below:

  1. Go with the cursor, a cross, to the left, to mark the lower boundary. Press the left mouse button.
  2. The lower boundary will be drawn as a solid thin line. from top to bottom.
  3. Go with the cursor to the right, to mark the upper boundary. Press the left mouse button.
  4. A question dialog will pop up. You may:
    • Continue. Refine the selection, i.e. go back to 1.
    • Not OK, Undo the last selection. Remark: only one level deep, earlier sections are not kept in memory. Next go back to 1.
    • Stop zooming in. Your selection is ready.

When you have stopped zooming in, a file dialog will appear. The user is prompted for the name of the file where he/she wants to store the selected section of the data. Thereafter the user can continue zooming in on another section of the data or finish the the program.
