Current Release: Wanda 4.7

Deltares is pleased to announce the availability of Wanda 34.72. This version is the second official release in the 3.7 series and improves the stability and existing functionality of Wanda 3.77 This release resolves several issues that have been discovered since the release of Wanda 4.6 and introduces new functionality and improvements. What's new in WANDA 3.72

Wanda 3.72 is primarily a bugfix release and includes all changes since Wanda 3.71 (released 23 March 2009).

Wanda 3.72 includes the following new features and improvements:

• Windows 7 and 64-bit versions of Windows XP/Vista are now fully supported
• WEC (Wanda External Communication) module improved and New WECDAQ44 control component for PLC commissioning (licensed customers only)

2024-10-17 - Wanda 4.7

This release addresses/fixes the following issues:

• Added new feature to the Check valve component. The user can set the initial state of the check valve to automatic. WANDA determines the initial (i.e., open or closed) state in the steady-state calculation.
• Fixed the error message for the Pump component when the efficiency is greater than100%
• Extended Pump model. It has a new drive type: Discharge. This allows for prescribing the discharge of the pump over time by means of an action table or a signal line from a control loop. The pump speed is in this case a dependent variable.
• Added new feature for the Control valve component (): It is possible now to define an initial zero flow. The valve position will be determined on basis of the hydraulic solution, which means that it will be closed if the initial discharge through the valve is zero.
• Added the Flow (Froude) number at time t = 0 as a new output property to the Pipe component.
• Added warning for the Valve component. WANDA gives a warning to the user when the steady state valve position is different from the first value in the action table.
• Fixed the behaviour of the Filling pipe section with airvalve component.
• Fixed crashes Dynamic check valve component due to repeated open and closing of the valve in a time step.
• Fixed that the table values (height - area) for a reservoir no longer allows surface area values of zero.

2020-02-05 - Wanda 4.6

This release addresses/fixes the following issues:

• Fixed issue where Wanda would crash on startup due to a Windows update (WANDA-3362)
• Improved setup process, now using Windows installer (MSI) (WANDA-377, WANDA-3264)
• New matrix solver and numerical improvements, results in significant performance gains for Wanda models with multiple pipe components or many pipe elements.
• Speed improvement in pipe by more efficiently calculating of the friction factor.
• Improvements to T- and Y-junction components, results in more stable behaviour in steady state and significant performance improvement.
• Bug fix to T- and Y-junction components. Cavitation around a T- or Y-junction could result in a singular matrix. This is solved.
• Stability improvements for the Free surface conduit
• Updated user interface to the latest version of iGrafx Flowcharter (WANDA-3410, WANDA-3347, WANDA-3340)
• Fixed case conversion issue with older models, Pipe profile of pipe invert was not converted to centreline (WANDA-3418)
• Fixed issue with VENT component, where an incorrect initial state would result in a singular matrix without error message (WANDA-3354)
• 2COND control component behaviour was incorrect, not in line with manual (WANDA-394).

• Write performance is improved. This is most noticeable when running simulations on network storage.

• User interface error (like above) on Epanet import fixed (see WANDA-2760)
• Unphysical results in merger component in steady state (WANDA-2770)
• Doubly written data in resume mode. This did not affect simulation results (WANDA-2764)
