This page contains a list of terms frequently used in DELFT-FEWS.
Forecasting shell server
A forecasting shell server is a computer which carries out tasks on behalf of the master controller (for example the running of external models such as ISIS) and forms part of the online system.
Localdatastore
A local datastore is a database (typically Microsoft Access or Firebird) which holds stores data which has been imported to fews and is held on the local file system.
Operator client
An operator client is a mode in FEWS where the FEWS operator logs in to an online system which then synchronises with your local interface (operator client). Tasks allocated by the operator client are then sent to the online system for processing.
Root configuration files
Root configuration files identify which instance of DELFT-FEWS you are using and whether it is in 'standalone' or 'operator client' mode. The files contained include:
global.properties (describes global properties relating to the location of folders and other system properties)
Log4jConfig (describes options for compilation of log file log.txt)
clientConfig (describes if the system is standalone or operator client)
fews-splash (display picture on startup)
When running in operator client mode the following additional files are required in the root config:
synchProfiles (describes the amount of data synchronised)
synchChannels (describes synchronisation channels with online system)
These files may be different for operation client and standalone systems and are typically prefixed with OC when in operator client mode.

Three terms for the same thing and all are used. They stand for the list of available preset graphs on the left hand side inside the TimeSeriesDisplay.
