National GEF standards for specific tests
The CUR has taken the initiative to generate guidelines for exchanging results of geotechnical tests, using the GEF format. These guidelines have been composed in coorperation with the industry and research & knowledge institutes in the geotechnical and geo-environmental domain. These CUR guidelines are called "standards". Since the CUR is recognised as an independent institute, their guidelines have a national impact. In the last decade four standards have been developed and maintained. They can be accessed via this page.
CPT: the cone penetration test
The report is called GEF-CPT-Report. It is basically the digital version of the information which a geotechnical company sends to its customers. The format provides a basis for a general exchange of processed digital cone penetration test data. Read more...
CPT: the dissipation test
The report is called GEF-DISS-Report. During a CPT the cone is kept at a constant depth and the pore pressure is recorded as a function of time. Since dissipation tests are done during CPT's, this standard provides the means to report the dissipation of the pore over pressures. Read more...
Description of borings
The report is called GEF-BORE-Report. The description of the content of bore holes is one of the most wide spread techniques in geotechnical engineering and engineering geology.
