Introduction
Importing and running a model
Import Coquitlam Vancouver network
1. Choose import from the file menu
1.browse to the folder containing the Coquitlam-Vancouver-Canada dataset, select the network.tp file to import the model
2. add map to the project, show network on the map (contained in model input)
Define discretization
3. rightclick on the map and select "Generate Computation Points" leave all defaults and click ok
The following image displays a detail of the discretization that was generated:
Open the first input boundary condition
The view shows a generated boundary condition in the shape of a sine. Leave the boundary condition as it is.
4. Inspect model properties
First activate the propertygrid and after click on model to show model properties in the propertygrid. The property grid can be used to change the calculation timesteps, start time and end time. Leave the default values for now.
5. run model
After the model run has finished successfully the property grid should show Status:finished.
Model results can be visualized by using the map
Create model from scratch
1. Add network
2. Add map
3. Drag network to map
2. Add branch
Select add new branch from the network editor toolbar
draw branch on the map
add cross section to the branch (failure)
Define cross section
Open cross section view
Edit cross section, set friction for cross section
Generate calculation grid
